KenKen as Mathematical Object




KenKen is a puzzle whose solution requires a combination of logic, simple arithmetic and combinatorial skills.  The puzzles range in difficulty from very simple to incredibly difficult.

This paper is intended for mathematicians who want to use KenKen puzzles to nurture those skills in students.  It is also an attempt to build a mathematical framework that enables the generalization of KenKen to puzzles for which the arithmetic is different from our usual one.
