The Ben Fitzpatrick, Jr., Fellowship is awarded to an outstanding graduate student at Auburn whose interests are in topology. The topology researcg faculty in the Auburn Mathematics and Statistics Department meet to determine the most deserving student.
The Ben Fitzpatrick, Jr., Memorial Graduate Fellowship in Topology was initiated soon after Ben's passing. In less than a year, the endowment funding topped the $25,000 minimum required for a permanent endowment. Current funding is over $35,000, and we encourage continued contributions in order to provide annual fellowships. Principal in the endowment is not spent: only accrued interest is used to support the fellowships.
Fellowship recipients:
2004: Brad Bailey
