If It’s a Good Partnership, then It Works!

Opportunities for and challenges to the successful use of Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) in the classroom include (a) the cultivation of partnerships necessary to support both IBL as a pedagogy and IBL-faculty, and (b) the need to show that IBL "works."  We unpack these challenges and opportunities, and reflect on (a) supportive partnerships between IBL-faculty/teachers and the administrators with whom they work, (b) departmental-level partnerships that include peer faculty/teachers and students, and (c) ways to demonstrate the effectiveness of IBL.  Any opinion, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation.
